It's basically the story of Patrick Jane, our favourite Mentalist of all time, falling in love with a complicated 17 years old girl. This story takes place before killing Red John and there is no Jisbon unless wanted. And his daughter survived but his wife is dead. :)

Melanie Hotchner is Sean Hotchner's daughter. She's sent to stay with her uncle, Aaron, after she drops out of collage. Once she arrives, he starts bringing her in on cases and she proves to be very intelligent. After a while of helping her uncle and his team at the FBI, she notices Spencer Reid acting differently around her.
