This is an absolutely true story of my encounter with Santa. I just hope you love it.

This is actually a song I wrote in the middle of the night. Tossing and turning, suddenly it started coming to me. The next day, I played it for my adorable vocal performance student, Candan Grace Stark, age ten. And she came up with the chords and words for the chorus. I will always remember how wonderful that was.

"Special" is the true story of my year teaching special education at the middle school level. It is an unexpected, haunting and heart-warming story about children with disabilities and how their lives and loves matter and how I discovered that love conquers all.
