**UNDER CONSTRUCTION - This was written in 7th grade and I'm now graduated from high school with a few college credits under my belt. I'm fixing all of it.** A shiver raced down my spine and the air thickened. The other end of the alleyway wasn't far, but it didn't seem to be coming closer no matter how fast I walked. Humoring my paranoia, I glanced over my shoulder just in time to catch a fist to the face. I dropped to my hands and knees and stared at the ground in a daze. My jaw throbbed with each beat of my heart, hammering the side of my face. Strong hands gripped me and dragged me backward. We made considerable progress toward the other end of the alleyway before my dazed mind caught up with reality. I was being kidnapped.

Gemma is a nobody. She knows it. Her parents know it. Everybody at school takes advantage of it. She accepts the fact that everybody is going to treat her badly. She can't do anything about it. After years of dreaming for the perfect parents for her and her twin brother, she spent a short time in paradise with her adopted parents until she was taken to Russia to be trained as the best assassin in the world. Much to her captor's disappointment, even the best assassin has to go home sometimes.

Stereotypes. I hate them. On my first day at my new school, a girl in a blue and white cheerleader's uniform told me I 'looked like a cheerleader' and asked me to come to tryouts. I almost decked her. Blonde hair and blue eyes do not a cheerleader make. Cheerleaders can be bitchy and mean but they can also act all happy and excited and they can drool and swoon over Finn Wallace – the hands-down hottest guy in school – like there's no tomorrow. Me? Mine included a secret society that the public, after learning about it a few years before, thought was now a modern myth, searching the globe and stealing back the pieces of a puzzle that we didn't know what information it would hold, and running from another secret society that was bound and determine to stop us no matter what. Oh, and you can't forget John Raymond, who just happened to be the one who kidnapped me. It was technically his fault I was in the middle of this, thrust into a world of secrets. I couldn't complain, though. And no matter what, John couldn't say we didn't make a great heisting team. But when that other secret society came into our crazy, messed-up equation, it added even more danger. But then again, I wanted a little adventure in my life, and I sure as heck got it.
