Here's my first in a series of Wings of Fire fanfics! :) It's long after the Great War, and now a new force of evil plans to conquer all of Phyrria by controlling the minds of dragons, and it's up to five animus dragonets to stop them. This is a Wings of Fire romance/adventure story! For years, Jasper has lived under his mother's watchful eye, unable to speak clearly about his feelings and hiding who he really is. Jasper is ready for a change, and he wants to be free. Snowdrift is a wild IceWing rebel, outspoken and proud. For years she has flown free over the freezing tundras of the Ice Kingdom, free and alone. But this lonely life doesn't work for Snow anymore. Snowdrift wants change, and she wants somebody beside her to know that she isn't alone. When Jasper and Snowdrift meet on the Ice-Sky Kingdom borders, the two can't help but fall for each other. But if Jasper's mother finds out about their forbidden love... Phyrria could fall into war once more.

They retreated to a hidden network of caves underneath Phyrria, and no dragon ever saw them again. For millions of years, the MudWings thrived in the caves. They grew several adaptations until they became what they are today- the BoulderWings, an unknown dragon tribe with armored stone-colored scales, and a line of crystals down their backs and on their legs, and they have inherited many MudWing traits. And to this day, the BoulderWings are still unknown to the other Phyrrian dragon tribes. Until now... Beryl is a young BoulderWing dragonet who has lived in the secret caves for as long as he can remember. But Beryl is sick and tired of the stone walls of the caves- he wants to be free like the dragons he has heard in the legends that his mother tells him- the dragons who fly free above the ground. Together along with his sister Sylvite, Beryl finds the exit to the cave and decides to run away from his home- only to find him and Sylvite in great danger...
