Peridot is horribly depressed and stressed out after the loss of her ship, her escort, her informant, and now her foot. With nowhere to go, Peridot is about to give up. Broken, Peridot gives herself to the Crystal Gems, waiting for her annihilation. Instead, Steven gives her an out. All she has to do to prove herself is help rescue an old, underwater friend of Steven's. Lapis Lazuli is living a perfectly normal life in a land called HomeWorld... that is, until she meets Peridot. Lapis takes a vaca on a cruise ship where she meets Peridot and soon befriends her. Then a huge storm hits the ocean right as Lapis and Peridot become best friends and sinks the ship! Lapis grabs Peridot and flies her and herself to a nearby island where they take shelter. Lapis then realizes her source of power, her gem, is broken and can't fly her and Peridot back home! Now they have to survive on the island together until her gem is fixed. Peridot is very frustrated that she can't get home but soon finds the beauty in the island and is thankful she is stuck with her new best friend! As the island brings them together, possibly into more than friendship, Lapis' gem begins to heal. Suddenly Lapis and Peridot get into an argument that could possibly bring them apart.
