Aiden Cooper's life hasn't been easy. He ran away from home, in an attempt to escape its horrors, and refuged himself with the wrong people at a very young age. Not being able to handle being in darkness much longer, he abandoned the dangerous lifestyle without leaving a trace of himself. Now, it'd be a miracle if he'd be able to live long enough for graduation. He's in too deep, and there's people out there who want dead or alive. Parker Jacobs wouldn't dare hurt a fly. Positivity, confidence, and beauty radiated out of her. Her mother taught her everything that she now knows, most importantly that laughter alleviates all, and that life should be molded into something worth living. After her mother's passing she's forced to live with her father, and go to school after being home-schooled for most of her life. A new school is a new environment with many unknowns, so when she walks up to the only guy in the hall to ask for directions, little did she know that he was the one and only Aiden Cooper and that his very presence would transform her life into both hell and heaven on earth.

Centuries after the Fall, the United States has been wiped away. The crumbling remains of the great American empire are home now only to savage, lawless tribes and packs of ravening Damned-the twisted children of the apocalypse. Most of those few who survived humanity's destruction spend their short lives in a violent struggle for survival. But some light still flickers in the darkness: the Blessed of Bountiful live in seclusion, relying on walls both physical and spiritual to protect them from the Desolation that their world has become. Among them are the Saints, those few men and women born with superhuman abilities that the Blessed see as gifts from God. The violent apostate tribes of the Northeast Kingdom have always been a danger, but up until recently its small size and the vigilance of its people have made Bountiful an unappealing target. As attacks on the community grow harsher and more frequent, however, even the steadfast Blessed are forced to start preparing for the worst. With her home's very existence threatened, seventeen year old Ever Oaks, a Saint with the power to heal, is forced to make a difficult choice, one that may come to define her people's future... Exile was a semi-finalist in Mark Lawrence's Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (#SPFBO). Fantasy Faction said it was "extremely cool," and Bookish Lifestyle called it "more than just a story, a journey and an experience." When I'm asked about it, I often describe it as "X-Men meets The Walking Dead." In addition to reading it here for free, you can buy Exile in e-book or paperback on Amazon.com.

Sixteen-year-old Celeste Blackwood has spent her high school years at an academy that teaches self defense techniques instead of P.E. class and how to crack computer codes instead of using the pythagorean theorem. She was taught how to shoot a gun when she was eight years old, and she knew how to take down a full grown man by the time she was ten. That's what you learn when you attend Briar Preparatory Academy, a school for young men and women training to work closely with the United States government. Things go south whenever a man by the name of Jasper Vegas seeks out vengeance on the school because of a dark past he has with the headmaster of the Academy. It is up to Celeste and her friends to find out why this man wants to see the destruction of Briar Prep. It is also their duty to defend it at all costs, whether it means life or death. Because when you are training to be a spy, courage is mandatory.
