What if magic were real, and humans were a myth? Al Ardito, the son of an infamous family of gangsters, and his brat of a younger sister, Sophie, find themselves dragged into a strange world by an incompetent gnomish wizard. In this world humans were once worshipped as gods, but those religions have been dying off as new technologies and ideas arise. Now everything will be thrown on its head as two bonafide humans--who want nothing more than to go back home--pop up out of thin air.

Dear reader, everything that you read in this book is something that I have experienced in my dreams. The pain that is described. The locations, though some may not be real places are things that I have seen, and the thoughts. There are plenty of dreams that I have been able to remember. I hope that you enjoy what follows. HUGE thanks to @christysarin for the amazing cover! Please note: I would like to ask that you don't question anything that happens in these dreams, nor the people in the dreams and the role they played. Each "chapter" is a new dream so this could be a never ending story. Also, at the end of every dream, I give my final thoughts on how the dream went. (Also, if any happen to lack in details, it's nothing but what I can remember seeing, doing, feeling, hearing, and saying. Thank you for your understanding) Final note: This story may never be classified as "Complete" as I will be putting every dream I have that is noteworthy.

He was screaming. I was screaming. Everyone was screaming. I don't know what I was thinking. I knew things would never change. He stormed out the front door and I ran to the door as he slammed it. I pushed past it and screaming his name. He didn't even look back at me. "Cody," I screamed. He didn't look at me. I stood there shaking as he started his car. My parents were behind me watching as the only boy I'd ever loved was about to drive off, drive out of my life, all because of them. I need to stop this. I needed to get him back. I had too. I ran over to his car.

Rio is a timid, antisocial 14 year old girl, she has normal wants, normal likes, and normal hobbies, but there is one thing about her that is definitely not normal. Rio is the Megami no Shimo Be, the human proxy of the Goddess of Pestilence. Her touch is poisonous, and without the help of her sacred beads she kills everything she touches. For her entire life she has been kept within the grounds of the Tsukishiro Shrine, never allowed to leave and only able to speak with her family, and the Nakano children, eight year old Suzu who is the closest thing that Rio has to a friend, and Naoki Nakano, Suzu's 16 year old brother who resents Rio both for her command over him, and her cowardess. When the new Emperor brands Rio's family as mutinous and has her shrine burned, she escapes with Suzu and Naoki. But there is danger everywhere she looks, including inside herself. Adrian had hunted Amélie for longer than he cared to admit. And that, coming from him, was saying something. Usually, he found no difficulty seeking out the girls he had been assigned and luring them in with his handsome figure and tantalizing smile. He was an Incubus, after all - a demon whose specialty was seduction. He had broken more hearts than he could count. What he did, he did without feeling, and without remorse. Such was the existence of a demon. Until he found Amelie. She - a petite yet unquestionably strong-willed young woman - hadn't swooned at Adrian's feet when she first saw him, but turned and bolted in the opposite direction as fast as her feet could carry her. It was as though she had known exactly what he had come for the instant she met his sparkling green eyes. He would know her inside and out better than she knew herself before he was through with her though. And when he was, she would belong to him mind, body and soul. The fact that she had powers she was only just beginning to discover was merely a bonus.

This is a collection of short stories. What began as a single short story entitled Nothing Pretty is expanding into a collection of my work. Each part of this book stands alone as it's own brief read. These are short stories, generally related to the subject of love. Love of course, isn't always pretty. Hope you enjoy.
