Kellin was a poor boy who had been abandoned by his family for coming out as gay, forced to eat very little and sleep on the streets. Vic, the leader of the most dangerous gang in Mexico, found himself in Michigan to settle a little "business". When he found Kellin sleeping on a bench, he decided that the boy would be his. Kellin Bostwick, a bullied teenager haunted by nightmares of a boy he thought he knew and loved, decides to run away from home, feeling unaccepted by his religious family for being gay. He wants to reinvent himself and make a new life, even going as far as introducing himself to people as Kellin Quinn instead of Kellin Bostwick. Desperate for a place to stay, he checks in to the Stay Inn Motel, where he runs into a group of guys - well, technically, they run into him - who help him find his way around town and offer him a place to stay. Vic, Jaime, Tony, and Mike treat him like part of the group, and Kellin finally feels acceptance. Vic decides he wants to be more then friends, and he won't take no for an answer, since he knows Kellin feels the same way. But is Kellin ready for a relationship after he ended up in a hospital, nearly dead, because of his last one? And what happens when Kellin and that ex run into each other again?

Kellin Quinn is a 24 year old boy who just received his degree in teaching. Kellin is absolutely thrilled to find out that he will be helping teach a class of mentally-challenged kids, or so he thinks. Kellin assumes that they are children seeing as he's never seen an adult that struggles with those problems. When he arrives on his first day, he is surprised to see a grown man in there: Vic Fuentes. Vic is 28 with the learning abilities of a third grader. He loves art and he hates interaction with others. Kellin takes immediate interest because he had never seen an adult that struggles with things the way that Vic does. Vic grows attached to Kellin, an attachment that surprises everyone considering they didn't think he could properly grasp the concept of feelings. Kellin grows attached to Vic, too, mainly due to Vic's mysterious personality.

Vic Fuentes has a daughter. But he doesn't know it. However, his 15 year old lawbreaking daughter is aware of her rockstar father, who's coming to her town on a tour. Will she make a move to get the father she never had?
