Mia is known as Mia Argent, 'Daughter' of Chris and Victoria Argent, 'Sister' of Allison Argent... Un-biologically. When Malia and Mia were sent away from their unknown mother at birth they were separated, Malia with the Tate family and Mia with the Argent's. The Argent's tried to find Malia, Mia's twin sister to keep them away from beacon hills and away from the Hale family. They never found Malia, so they could only protect Mia. Mia was a werewolf, she didn't know this. She didn't know of any type of creature. The Argent's hired someone to make sure of that, Mountain Ash and Wolfs Bane in every meal made sure of that, but also the distance from Beacon Hills... If Mia were to cross the border to Beacon Hills, the Mountain Ash and Wolfs Bane would be pointless pain, it wouldn't keep away the wolf side of her. The transformation itself would be pain enough for Mia, enough to kill her or make her stronger. This wouldn't be a problem if the Argent's weren't the Argent's, but they are. So at any sign of werewolf activity the family packed up and moved to Beacon Hills. They went in two separate cars. Allison left first with Victoria, and Mia was with Chris.
