As the golden trio tried to apparate back to the Wizarding World, Annabeth decided to tag along because she wanted to "experience something she hasn't before" but instead of landing on their destination they landed on another location where they meet Katniss Everdeen. and she reveals that they just landed onto the arena of the Hunger Games.
