A young girl's body is found laying face down in a creek; her murder serves as a catalyst to incite change in the lives of the people she touched. The death shakes the protagonists: Karen, Sun, and Julie to their core. Forcing each to reflect on the way they live their lives, and ushers the three women towards what they fear most, towards changes that are painful but necessary. The individual stories weave together to create a larger narrative about choices. Each of the women is trapped, and they are unable to see the truth about what confines them; because what confines them is the simple choice they make not to change things. Sometimes life is about the choices we make and not simply circumstances that happen to us.
