Eigentlich wollte doch Percy nach den zahllosen Kämpfen nur endlich mal ein "normales" Leben führen, soweit das als Demigottheit und Held des Olymp möglich ist. Er wollte weiter zur Schule gehen und endlich seinen Abschluss machen, sich endlich mal eine kleine "Pause" gönnen. Doch als er eines Tages von der Schule nach Hause kommt und vor ihm ein fremder, älterer Mann mit weißem, langem Bart steht und Chiron neben ihm in seinem Rollstuh sitzt, wird ihm bereits bewusst, dass etwas auf ihn zukommen wird. Und als dann seine Mutter auch noch ein riesen großes Geheimnis aus ihrer Vergangenheit auspackt, verändert sich sein Leben mal wieder schlagartig und er weiß, dass nichts mehr so ist wie es war und er eine große Aufgabe zu bewältigen hat...
