Mary LaGrange isn't ordinary. For a woman nearing her fifties, she's surprisingly strong and nimble, likely a side effect of being a werewolf. But that isn't what makes her different. What makes her different is her boundless love for anything that moves or cries. Despite having no biological children, Mary is an established foster parent, and has in a few cases even adopted her fosters. She's an active member in the neighborhood welcome committee, the head of the PTA, and often organizes picnics, barbecues, and potlucks every holiday. She is a werewolf, but the town really doesn't care, in addition to Mr. LaGrange, there are several other werewolves in town, and no one wants to start a species based war, that's just rude. Though not necessarily werewolves, many of Mary's foster children are supernatural. Mary is the town's "mother", she is well known for keeping a stock of band-aids, ice cream, and chicken soup ready for any child who comes running to her with a scraped knee, broken heart, or fever. Elizabeth Peters is also a werewolf, but as the newest foster, she's been too busy trying to hide her "dark" secret, that the family hasn't been able to tell her that nobody cares about that. ... "Sweetie? Are you sure you don't want to go out with us tonight? The moon is really nice." I ask through the bedroom door. "No, Mrs. LaGrange, I'm going to stay here tonight." I hear. "Oh, honey, I told you you should call me Mom." ... "Well, if you do decide to go out, there's a key under the doormat, lock up behind yourself." "Okay Mrs. La- Mom." I chuckle slightly as I turn to leave. "Love you sweetie! You know you can talk to me about anything." I leave and quietly change out of my clothes and out of my form, before watching from a cluster of trees as Elizabeth slips out of the house. She almost leaves, but turns back and locks the door first. She really is a sweet girl, she's just too worried about everything.
