17 year old, Ryan Atwood, comes from a violent neighborhood. His despicable 20 year old brother forces him to steel a car leading him to spend 18 months locked up in a cell. When he is released a lawyer visits him and gives him his card. As soon as he gets back to chino. He enters his house and his drunk mother throws him out of the house. He eventually lives with the lawyer and his family and starts to fall in love with the girl next door. But he finds himself in all sorts of trouble and will he be able to get out of it.
