When twins Skylar and Jake were born, their scientist parents used them as an experiment. Each was injected with a dose of serum that would supposedly make them much stronger, smarter, simply better than other kids. But somebody added a chemical that changed the effects of the serum. As a result each twin got only half of the traits they were originally supposed to get. Skylar got the strength and speed while Jake got the brains. When they realized what had happened, the twins' parents immediately put them up for adoption, so neither one knew of the other. 12 years later Skylar is constantly failing all her classes, and Jake is getting bullied because he is so much weaker than other kids. But then Skylar's adoptive family decides to move across the country to find a new school for their daughter, which happens to be the school Jake goes to. They meet completely by accident. In the meantime, their parents have found a way to fix their mistake from 12 years ago -- they can make one of the twins perfect. But it requires for the other twin to give their life.

Kara Kara has long blonde hair, and her eyes are blue on the outside, then light green, and around her pupil is a bright orange star. She was raised on a ranch in Ohio, but is now attending Sky's The Limit Boarding School in California. Wendy Wendy has dirty blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. Wendy is an only child, and her parents give her all the attention. When she is not at school she lives in Colorado. Ava Ava has brown hair that is all most long enough to reach her waist. She has blue eyes, dark blue around the outside, and a gorgeous blue on the inside. She is also very short. Ava has gone to school with KARA before this school. Eden Eden has dirty blonde hair that is about three inches below her shoulders. She has light green eyes, and is about the same height as KARA. Eden and KARA also went to school together before this school.
