It can't be real, nothing can. All the pain, it cannot be right. Alone in his apartment, Tyler sits with just a notepad, pens, pencils and his own thoughts. The only time he leaves is work. But he's barely able to function anymore, the constant feeling of being watched becoming too much to handle and plans on ending it all. But that's okay right? he'll just wake up if he dies. but maybe, the man with brightly coloured hair that lives across from him can change his mind, maybe this 'dreamland' isn't so bad after all... Or maybe he still needs to wake up. // "It's okay, I want this." "But I don't! Josh has attempted suicide multiple times. It never works. He has made a list: Tie a noose - not when your mother is visiting. Swallow pills - 1. maybe something more powerful than paracetamol. 2. Ibuprofen and paracetamol = hospital Main vein in wrist - deeper. Bridge - water apparently saves lives. Building - 1. people are curious and act as saviours. 2. Higher building needed. 3. CPR seems common knowledge. It seems the universe just doesn't want him to die. His roommate and boyfriend (Tyler) don't want him to die either. The problem is it seems the only thing josh has been successful at is hiding his suicidal tendencies from said boyfriend. Long sleeves are easy to wear all the time, also, even though they have been together for many years josh is asexual so there's never seemed to have been a time when Tyler has seen him without a shirt. All of this is of course until, after living together for all of five months, Tyler, being the curious person he is, finds Josh's list crushed on the bedroom floor (how careless). And, oh, the guilt that consumes a man so happy he has been blind to sadness for so long is simply overwhelming. Maybe Josh should've been more careful. Tyler has depression, but he is going through recovery spectacularly, it's not a straight line but he's pretty much happy. He loves drifting off into his imagination but despises plummeting into negative thoughts. He can't complain. He is so close to recovery. But, sometimes he has to stop and wonder, because, what if he crashes and burns? Josh has depression, but it seems his only worries are when Tyler's face goes blank and he disappears into his own thoughts. He loves Tyler with all his heart and more but despises how Tyler doesn't seem to notice that Josh isn't as "fine" as he said he is. He can't complain. He doesn't want Tyler to worry when the person is so close to recovery. But, sometimes he has to stop and wonder, because, what if putting Tyler before himself kills him? // "Why are you wearing long sleeves all the time? He was so, so beautiful. And not in just the physical way. He was beautiful in what he was. Fire and smoke and tall things and candy and laughter and football games he didn't care about and music that he did and I will never be able to forget any of that, and I can't say that I ever want to. *** This story will contain upsetting thoughts and actions because of the fact that it's written from the view of a depressed human being. & i would edit this (considering it was written about two years back), but it's cool to leave things where they are. enjoy my older writing, dudes xx
