Seventeen year-old Eliza Taylor's latest run-in with New York City Police lands her on a bus with a one way ticket to the small town of Blackwater. Unimpressed with being an indentured servant for her cranky and ridiculously ancient aunt, Eliza soon finds hope when she meets Dante, another of her aunt's employees, as well as Chase, the cute boy-next-door who works at his dad's hardware store. Unfortunately, Eliza's panache for getting into trouble rears its ugly head when she discovers her aunt's shop sells more than just postcards from 1988. Her aunt's "private showroom" houses each of the seven deadly sins: Pride, Envy, Wrath, Avarice, Lust, Gluttony, and Sloth. But stopping her evil aunt from damning the souls of unsuspecting teens has a price - and that price might very well be Eliza's eternal soul. Can Eliza survive her evil aunt, outwit the dark master she serves, and keep a few souls out of Hell, including her own? She's not so sure, but seeing as how she likes her soul in the upright and firmly out-of-hell position, she's gonna give it her best shot. Hopefully her best won't end up killing her and ruining her afterlife - God knows her normal life is hard enough! **Copyrighted Material: Bad Company Copyright © Wendy Nelson 2012 All Rights Reserved. Josie Brown has no idea the Organic Food Store next door is haunted. Until he sees the rotting, shrieking ghost baby in the paper towel aisle. Then the nightmares start. The little girl across the street disappears from her bed. And Josie wakes up in her room the night she goes missing. Just about everyone in Sydney, Australia - including his workaholic parents and ambivalent teachers - thinks Josie is stealing the kids of Tamarama Street. It isn't long before the police, reporters, and a mob of angry kids are accusing the weird, quiet 14-year-old of being a monster. And Josie is starting to think they might be right. Only two people might believe him - Emerald, the new girl and daughter of the great marine biologist, who has been tracking the children's disappearances, and Manhattan, surf star, intimidating wild girl, and sister of one of the missing kids. Together, the three discover that what is taking the children is not human at all, but something much more ancient, powerful, unstoppable and deadly. Josie will have to face the monster and ultimately, his own demons, if he wants to clear his name and save the kids.

A journalist sacked for phone hacking and tired of his decadent life style researches a triple murder that took place in his own ancestral home during the English Civil War. He discovers that events which occurred there nearly four hundred years ago are mirrored by his son's relationship with a Muslim girl whose father has forbidden her to marry outside of the faith. Returning to his ancestral home, the journalist finds himself assailed by memories of the tragedy which appear to be embedded into the fabric of the building and brought to life by his presence. When his son's girlfriend is abducted and forced to appear before a sham Sharia court for offending Islamic values, the memories in the house take on a more tangible form which propel the journalist into a dramatic chase to rescue his son and girlfriend from a terrible punishment.

[ UNEDITED ] READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!! Let's be honest. What could possibly be worse than a 4 night stay in a 'haunted hotel'. Angeline, John, Max, Marcus, Ashlynn and myself, grouped together and assigned to stay in Room 414 of Resident Hotel. Creepy receptionist, elevator stopping at random floors, weird screaming at night, sudden deaths of students and seeing things only a person with a third eye could see. This is our story. *RESIDENT HOTEL IS A FICTIONAL HOTEL WHICH I MADE UP MYSELF.
