After being adopted, Clove moves into a new house and meets her neighbour, Cato. They instantly become friends and start building a relationship that nearly turns into something more than friends. Cato betrays Clove and she is devastated, will she ever forgive him in time to be his district partner in the 74th Hunger Games? ****************** “You drive me crazy.” I say before I lean in to kiss her. I try stopping myself but I just couldn’t. I could feel my heart almost bursting out of my chest. I realise, I wasn’t the only one who was leaning in. My heartbeat starts ringing through my ears when our lips touch for the first time but only lightly. “I have to go.” Clove says while taking a big gulp in and pulling away. “Why?” I say in disappointment. “I just have to.” She says almost in a whisper. Clove swings her bag over her shoulder and takes off in lightning speed. I stand up and start walking slowly back to my house. My thoughts flooded with a billion unanswered questions. You idiot! You tried to kiss your best friend who’s three years younger than you! I had to apologize. As I take each step, something kept bugging me, why did she lean in too? ************************* COPYRIGHT © 2013 Misty_Scarlet ***Used to be AlexbelleSwift***

SPOILERS FOR A THOUSAND YEARS President Snow has come up with the Fallen Hunger Games, where tributes who have supposedly 'died' have to compete in, for his own entertainment. These games are worse than the original. You will actually die. The Careers are more determined than ever to have another shot of winning a new Hunger Games. Arrogant as they already are, Cato and Clove are their new targets. But their love will face a new challenge when the boy from 1 falls for Clove. The Capitol has added in a creature, more bloodthirsty than the Careers. Will their love survive? More importantly, will they survive? ********************************* “It’s felt like a thousand years loving you, and I could keep going for a thousand more.” I say, trying to cheer her up. “I’m scared that I’ll be nothing, once you’re gone.” She stammers. “Don’t be afraid, I’ll forever be by your side.” I say while kissing her hand. “Forever?” “Forever.” “Promise me, a thousand years?” She struggles to say. “And a thousand more.” My smile fades as I take one last look at her. ********************************* COPYRIGHT © 2013 Misty_Scarlet ***Used to be AlexbelleSwift***

Clove trained her entire life for the Games. She left District 2 to escape her father and tormentor, Favian, and bring honor to her District. Against all odds she and Cato both managed to survive. But one of them was meant to die in the arena. And President Snow is furious. Unless Clove can convince everyone she is the heartless, brutal, killer she was born to be, everyone she loves will die. This includes letting go of whatever she and Cato had--even their friendship. In the aftermath of the Games, District 2 becomes a minefield of secrets and lies. Ghosts from Clove's past appear in the day as ghosts from the arena haunt her nights. In this sequel to "Clato: Cuts Beneath the surface" Clove struggles with hiding her breaking heart and surviving the Victory tour. She begins to wonder if it would have been better to have died in the arena.

Seventy-four years has been long enough. The way of the infamous Hunger Games has been altered. No longer is every Gamemaker out to devise the worst means of torture and death for every tribute. No longer are the people of Panem outwardly tolerant of President Snow's murderous actions. Under the facade of a normal group of Gamemakers, several rebellious citizens have begun an experiment which, if it succeeds, will make use of technology both to rescue the tributes before they are dead and then deposit the brainwashed children back in time. They have to try it. No one knows what horrors future Hunger Games may bring, and the desperate rebels are willing to try anything. Meanwhile, in the mountainous regions of District 2, Cato Hadley and Clove Kentwell have trained their whole lives for the Games. Nevertheless, their ambitions change when they, without meaning to, find themselves in the Games together. They are both determined to win. But if they don't, what will happen to them? The brainwashed tributes who land in New York City know nothing of who they are or where they are from. They do not remember Panem, or the Games, or even their own names. This is a science fiction story based off the Hunger Games and its characters. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Hunger Games! This story is based around a plot twist I created, but all rights go to Suzanne Collins, the author of the original series. Disclaimer no. 2: this was a first draft written by a very awkward fifteen-year-old me; please treat it as such. Thanks. *insert smiley emoji here* ➸ Highest ranking: #86 in Science Fiction © 2015 clato_maroondiamonds

When new training partners for the year are assigned the day after the 73rd reaping, a mistake is made. Clove ends up partnered in the wrong age category with next years best contender for the crown: Cato Hadley. Everyone is jealous but Clove has bigger problems to deal with than her annoying partner.
