Malaikat dikenal sangat patuh dan tidak memiliki hawa nafsu layaknya manusia. Namun, Ramiel, seorang malaikat maut yang tidak bisa melawan kata hatinya lebih memilih untuk mengabaikan tugasnya demi menyelamatkan seorang bayi 20 tahun yang lalu saat akan mencabut nyawa dari ibu sang bayi. Akibat dari perbuatannya itu Ramiel kemudian dibuang dari surga dan diberikan hukuman. Sekarang dengan hukuman yang diberikan kepadanya, hanya takdir yang sanggup mengakhiri hukuman dari sang malaikat maut itu. Begitu pula pertemuannya dengan malaikat jatuh pertama yang akan membawa dunia ke depan gerbang kehancuran.
