This all started with one, just one reason, then adds another one, then another one, it seems endless. But something is stopping them. It seems like it doesn't want them to know everything. Dan, he's in danger. He always is, because of his condition. His horrible, terrifying condition that can end up Phil, Evelyn and Emerald dead. It can also end up him dead. Phil, he's always worried. He doesn't want to lose Dan like last time. He would risk his life just to make Dan okay. To make his best friend safe from harm. Evelyn and Emerald also feels like Phil. They don't want to lose Dan, from all they've been through together that made the 4 of them close. But can they stop this madness before it gets worse?

What starts off as a simple day in the Lester and Howell house hold soon turns into something much worse, when Phil, goes missing. But when Dan finds out the real reasoning for his friends kidnapping will he be able to handle it emotionally and physically? Dan Howell takes up a opportunity to travel halfway across the world to be an exchange student. Phil Lester is appalled when his parents decide to tackle the challenge of housing an exchange student to 'straighten him out' from his aggressive teenager ways.

Dan comes home from Christmas shopping to find Phil in the bathroom passed out. He doesn't know how or why this happened, but is terrified for his best friend. Dan tries to help Phil but gets annoyed with himself in the process, writing everything he hates about himself along with his deepest secret: his love for his best friend. Will Phil ever find out? A boy raised around religion and the discounts for sin, Phil Lester is definitely not one to go around looking for trouble. With his father being the vicar of their local church, Phil has a lot to live up to and has to keep his reputation high if he's to be accepted. He doesn't do parties or drinking; the thought of sex alone is enough to terrify him. So it's no wonder that when Dan Howell, a boy who embraces the life of parties and rebellious acts, shows up to join the church program, Phil starts having trouble keeping himself sane as he tries to teach Dan the path to God. But, religion isn't the thing on Dans mind and he seems to find himself a new toy to play with. Daniel James Howell has a typical teenage life, with the acceptation of a semi-dark past. His life was drama free, and had no major worries. That's until a student teacher starts to teach his art class. They instantly clicked and even more. Dan never had any big secrets, he could always tell his "friends" everything. But if him and Mr.Lester are going to continue seeing one another he'll have to hide everything, and cross his fingers the school board doesn't find out. But that's not all they've kept hidden; the former secrets were merely things they've tried to forget. These secrets, they eat at them each day, aching to be let out of their dark cave but fearing rejection and hate. Will they find a way to spill their cups full of secrets, or will they stay enclosed forever? If they do end up set loose, what will become of the two boys? You'll have to read to find out.
