When Alfred gets the strange idea to visit England during his ruthless, pirating days-excuse me-Privateering days, Arthur grants his wish but unfortunately forgets a few very important details to tell Alfred about this trip which in turn probably will get our poor main character killed. Follow America as he try time and time again to escape England's clutches upon his soul and as the modern Arthur struggle to bring him back to the present because, believe it or not, time passes the same in the past and now, so the longer Alfred stays, the more World Meetings and Conferences he'd miss, and the more that happens there'd be a very strong chance of war breaking out and basically start WWIII. (Whao, long sentence) Oh well, who cares about stupid politics though? Of course romance will be a big, very big, part of this interesting Fanfiction so Bon Appetite, I guess! :D And yes, this is a UKUS story (Which will have a lot of USUK moments) and now it'll also feature some nice moments of Rusame, even if it's brief and maybe onesided....and if you really like USUK, I hope this fanfiction can open up your mind and inspire you to...um...do something. :) -Erika Evangeline ♚

...Do I really have to give this stupid introduction? Yes? I do...? Fine... Whatever. My name is Nova Lise, and I just moved to the Alola region. I'm nineteen, and because my mother can hardly stay in one place, we move from region to region a lot. I try not to get too attached to anything or anyone, because I never know when my mother will up and decide to move again. My father's not in the picture, so don't even think about asking about him. Most trial-goers in Alola are eleven years old when they start their island challenge. I'm nineteen years old and just now starting mine, since I only recently moved here. ...okay, so maybe I'm getting a bit of a late start. So what? I know this is a new thing for me, starting an island challenge in a completely unfamiliar region, but my cousin Kukui deciding that I need a babysitter to make sure I don't get lost and give me a crash course on being a Pokemon Trainer was the absolute worst idea he's ever had. Yeah, my new babysitter's name is Altair Knight, and that jerk is so infuriatingly perfect at everything that it drives me insane. I look like some sort of fumbling idiot compared to Mr. Perfect, because I can't even properly work a microwave! Anyways, this is the story where I'm supposed to go on some journey with this infuriating guy Altair who loves to push my buttons and mess with me, a quiet and mysterious girl named Lillie, and some spastic eleven year old boy named Hau who's obsessed with malasada, and I'm supposed to come back from it all a different person. It's horrible to don a mask. Most wear some kind of mask in their life--and for the most part, they're never of the best quality. All they cause is useless self-destruction and pain, but the good thing about them is that they can hide some ugly part of you that you don't want to show to the world. They're always a step down from what you think they'd be, always a notch lower than expectations, and always a lie to hide from the reality around us. ...of course, there are those that can see through those masks too, and it's supposed that Arceus created these humans to keep the world's sanity. That's all Avis wishes for, because it's nearly impossible to find any semblance of peace in this midst of war and chaos. To him, that's staying alone; staying out of others' business, and for the first seventeen years of his life, he's done that pretty well. § Avis can only hide in the shadow of his twin brother's strength, stranded in a country ravaged by war and destruction--and he tries to live his life in the darkness peacefully. He doesn't need to be noticed by everyone. The illusion of a functional, ideal life, however, is shattered when his family's balance is destroyed, and he thus dons his first mask. § For all his life, Avis had been taught that disaster was bad. For the most part, he's believed that much--he only needs to think of ungraceful piles of debris and blood-caked grounds to be convinced of that. At eighteen, he finds himself starting to doubt it--just a little. He can hate disaster for tearing his life to pieces, but he can't quite hate it for granting him something better than a miracle. § Tonight, these children don their masks.
