Hazel has a normal life. She owns a bookstore, is addicted to coffee, and yells at the brownies when they catch her kitchen on fire. Okay, so her life is not normal. She's been able to see mythical creatures since day one, and she doesn't know why. Over the course of her life, she's dealt with it and the mythical world has become a part of her that she can't live without. One day, a man shows up in her store and leaves a box with her name on it sitting on her counter. Opening the box, she finds an amulet. When she puts it on, her "normal" life is roughly turned upside-down and she realizes that the brownies were the least of her problems.
