Everything in her life was perfect until her parents decided to get a divorce. That's when her life changed for the worse. Her dad moved to Miami with his new wife, leaving her in Atlanta with her mom who's decided to turn to coke and heroin to deal with her problems. Her mom abuses her, and has even tried to sell her daughter's body for a quick high. Not being able to take it anymore, she runs away and runs into the city's most famous kingpin, Blaze, who she's had a crush on for years. He helps her get back on her feet, but by him doing so, it only makes her fall for him more and more. What happens when she completely falls for him? Will he catch her, or will he walk away?

Learning to balance the shift in culture and the chaos of her first year in college all in one, Jojo struggles to adjust to her circumstances and blend into a world where her privilege no longer holds any weight. Things grow even more complicated when she meets Dice, her half-brother's best friend-a well mannered , street-smart young adult who seems to embody everything Jojos maternal side of the family warned her about. Dice is equally frustrating and intriguing, with a no-nonsense attitude that calls Jojo out on her unrealistic expectations. As their chemistry builds, Jojo finds herself questioning everything she thought she knew about family, loyalty, and love while Dice struggles letting Jojo take a trip to his world. But, to love someone at their lowest, to love someone despite how broken they feel, when they're lost, when you're willing to stand by them no matter how challenging or difficult things may be, that kind of love is a lot more beautiful. That kind of love is a lot more meaningful. Thank you for loving me both times when things are good and bad, up and down.
