The Wattys 2014 "Undiscovered Gem" Stella Henry is afraid of a lot of things. As a child, her simple, comfortable home life did not prepare her for the sort of people whom she would meet as a younger teenager. Now eighteen and a freshman at Clemson University, Stella meets Charlie, who, like her, has long been keeping others at bay. Though his disposition is kind and gentle, Charlie is a boxer, and his world only reminds Stella of elements of her past she would like to forget. When both realize that they have a safe place in one another, they start to overcome their fear of other people, and of letting them get close enough to matter. In many ways, this is a story about allowing people to matter to our lives, and about meaning something to them, in turn. At some point in your day, in your routine, in your life, you will matter to someone. That is a special kind of power, do be careful with it. "We love people not so much for the good they've done us, as for the good we've done them." Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace

Elizabeth Reynolds is an African American girl who has lived in Denton Heights(a hood neighborhood) her whole life. She was talked about behind her back due to her personality. White, Confused, Weird, Freak and many more words are what were thrown around from person to person. And to top it all off her mother is a drug addict and her father is racist. What more could she ask for right? *note sarcasm* James Turner has a great life in anybody's eyes. Perfect parents, a beautiful 4 year old sister, great friends, and he is rich. perfect life right? Wrong.James wishes he could have a better life. Don't get him wrong he loves his friends and his baby sister, in fact he has to take care of her most of the time. His parents are always away, either across the country or overseas. And not for business trips either. Great parents right? To top his story off, his parents are racist as well. How will Lizzie and James' parents react to them dating a race they are supposed to despise. Will they forgive and forget or will they disown their children for fornicating with such kind. If the title doesn't give you an idea of what this story is about, then it's not my fault.

My name is April and I'm an ASBO according to society. They think we're criminals. All I did was sucker-punch a guy for harassing me about stealing his wallet, which I didn't. I'm not a thief. So now here I am, stuck doing community service because of it. But there's this tingly feeling I have in my fingers that I can't explain. Must've been the storm. (Warning: Strong language, Sexual references, Alcohol and Drug Use) *NOTE: THIS STORY IS BASED OFF OF "MISFITS" (TV SHOW) I DO NOT OWN THE SHOW NOR DID I COME UP WITH IT.
