An elite group of profilers analyze the nation's most dangerous criminal minds in an effort to anticipate their next moves before they strike again. After a suspenseful kidnapping in a mall, a young women had found the child after doing a self investigation, under the F.B.I's noses and found the child. She's the over protective type, and that drove her into finding the young girl. After witnessing the young women's determination and quick witts, she BAU decide to offer her a job. She take's it, deciding to protect the world from evil and put the evil away behind bars, and most importantly, protect her little sister.

At first, new Special Agent Emma Gideon joins the BAU with completely professional intentions. But, when she finds herself face to face with Dr. Spencer Reid those intentions become jeopardized. Emma, struggling to tame this sudden attraction, tries to focus only on her new, demanding job. However, when Spencer begins to feel the same way, Emma is faced with a very important decision. And so begins a tale of secrets. Secrets of the heart. Secrets of the tongue. Secrets of the past. Secrets of possibility. Secrets needed to save lives. And secrets that, perhaps, should be only encountered in the safe walls of a nightmare tortured mind.
