I often wonder how, in a world full of billions of people, I managed to lose just one. A collection of poetry dedicated to the people who have helped me lose myself. Without you, I would have never had the strength to truly find myself.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, and for these two, their lives have been planned down to a science. For Wylan Olson, being yourself can be very stressful. Since she was young, her emotions have always been backwards. The embodiment of 'tears of joy,' that laughs to keep from crying, not many people understand her struggle. Mostly because she barely understands it herself, but she's making it...barely. All she wants to do is make something out of herself, and she's willing to work for it. Kwame Okari has been raised to be perfect. His parents' strict expectations at son leave no room for friendships, which they regard as frivolous. Their only concern is for him to be Ivy League, and he cannot afford to disappoint. He is a boy on a mission, with a clear objective: be first. And there's only one person standing in his way-Wylan. As the two develop a better understanding of each other, competing agendas complicate their relationship forcing them to decide which is more important: attraction or ambition, satisfaction or success, friendship or fruition, and lead them to wonder if one has to be mitigated for the other.

A collection of poetry found its way juxtaposed with short works of prose, conveying talks about what comprises the life of a fool, what it takes to be such, and whatnots in between. Fools is a book of poems and prose alike, dedicated for those who experienced being a fool so deeply that it became an overlooked habit.

Hi, name's Joe. My life is as cliche as it can get. I'm one of those good-looking blond boys you read about in teen fiction whom all the girls die for. But things aren't that straight forward. You see, I'm aware that I'm fictional. But I've started to question it ever since the new school psychologist suggested I might be delusional. Don't worry, I'll figure it out, while also figuring out what my story in this book is going to be about. Hopefully by the end of this book I'll end up with one of the girls from my school. Not every girl is a model. Not every boy has a six-pack. Not every girl is perfect. Not every boy is perfect. "People aren't puppets."
