When the queen of Mirkwood unexpectedly dies Thanduil is left without a wife, but more importantly his son is left without a mother. The king knows he cannot fill the ruins left by a dead mother so he appoints another woman to take her place, to look after his son when he cannot, and to give him the warmth he no longer feels himself. Inladris is a highborn elf who did not expect this responsibility to be thrust upon her, but she accepts it with aplomb and does her best to not only raise a prince but to give the king a friend she suspects he doesn't realize he needs. This is the story of their peculiar friendship through grief, and how two opposites may or may not successfully raise a child. *This is not a romance.

(INDEFINITE HIATUS) As far as Morifinwë Carnistir was concerned, release was supposed to be impossible. That was what he'd been told, what he'd nearly taken for granted, since the moment he entered those dark Halls. His crimes, his oath, the elves he killed in his struggles, served as clear enough reason for that sentence. And Caranthir had done nothing to beg for pardon. Third Age now, they were saying. What did he care? And the war that raged outside, the work of a returning Sauron, wasn't important to dead souls. Apparently, the Valar had other ideas. This is the tale of the War of the Ring, and how it all deteriorated into chaos when an unplanned visitor swooped in against all odds, changing history as it was written, and perhaps causing a bit too much drama for these newer, higher times. (This fic is currently on a forever hiatus, BUT you can find a sequel fic written by the amazing @HaltandCrowley13 ! Check out their page for the continuation!!!)

It has been nigh on two hundred fifty years since the destruction of the Ring and peace thrives in Middle Earth. Men, dwarves, elves, and hobbits live side by side in harmony, or do they? The Elves disappeared from Middle Earth nearly two hundred years ago and no one knows where they went. All they know is that one day they all vanished. Except for one. Illeandir has searched Middle Earth for two-hundred years, ever since a deadly attack that began everything. He scoured the land for a single scroll that holds the location of the lost Elves. But that too is lost. With no idea where to begin looking, Illeandir visits an old friend who may have a clue to where the scroll hides. Persued by orcs and goblins, who will stop at nothing to kill him, he makes his way to Gondor where he discovers the scroll doesn't exist. The hiding place of the Elves is a long kept secret by an elf long dead. But visions tell Illeandir otherwise; to revisit a time in his past he'd rather forget.
