Although he did like that she didn't attempt to kick him out of her apartment, he did miss seeing her reaction when she saw that he broke into her apartment. Gray didn't like how she didn't go out of her way to take a second glance at him, or how she suddenly became bolder than she was before. Gajeel noticed how she barely scolded him anymore.
