The story follows a young man in his journey through the carnage. The stricken are the least of his worries; though, as a monster much worse lingers on the horizon. Let me know what you think in the comments! Focus does shift from Jermane after a point, but he is still very prevalent in the plot, as more supernatural elements are employed in the story. Quietly, I climbed down the rope ladder and sat with my back against the tree trunk. It was cold tonight, but I didn't care. Sighing, I pulled out my pocket knife and started blindly twirling it around. Within minuets I had a new set of cuts on my finger tips, and small droplets of blood had covered the blade. The pricks of pain felt good, but I knew it was a bad idea to continue this. Still, I kept twirling the small knife in my hands, every now and then switching to my other hand. Life was so confusing now, it wasn't even funny.

If love could kill, then this one would. All I can say, is that if Jack was normal and I was normal, this would be no killer love.

I lazily opened my eyes. My head was pounding, and I didn't know where I was. It was dark, pitch black to be exact. Looking around, I couldn't make anything out. Only when I looked up did I see something, the stars. And...tree branches? A twig snapped somewhere nearby, and my head snapped around. "Who's there?" I demanded. Leaves crunched, and I suddenly felt a hand grab onto my arm. "Me."
