In celebration of Halloween, I’ve worked with Sour Patch Kids to create an awesome short story! In the first chapter, a group of Kids’ night out on Halloween goes terribly wrong! When Olivia, a senior in high school, is unexpectedly paired up for a presentation with her middle school bully, Danny Johnson, she is anything but pleased. She still sees him as the rude, cynical, and not to mention, unbelievably arrogant boy, he was four years ago. Danny doesn’t remember Olivia at first, but when he does, their relationship changes completely. To her horror, he remembers her by the cruel nickname, “Eggplant”, which he called her in the 8th grade, when she was overweight and wore a purple sweater to school. Danny is the last person Olivia expected to fall for, but when he asks her on a date and shows her his true self, she’ll finally own up to her feelings and grab her happily ever after by the reigns.

At five years old, Keira Hartley made a pact with her best friend Megan to never let anything come between them. But ten years later, that promise was broken when a cute new boy moves to town. Jared Malone was everything Keira had ever wanted. It was too bad Megan felt the exact same way. Overcome by jealousy, their friendship quickly turns sour as they compete for his attention. Now barely talking, the two girls run into each other at a local movie theater on Valentine’s Day. Desperately missing her friend, Keira concocts a plan to repair their damaged relationship. But will Megan accept? Or has Keira lost her best friend forever?
