Lucifer Vanzetti is an old friend of the Originals who later in the 20th century changes his name to Antonio Vanzetti in memory of the mobster who took him in the early 1870s. Antonio's older brother Charles disapproved of taking in Lucifer but soon learned that with out him they would've been dead a long time ago. You see Lucifer made a deal with Niklaus to leave the Matranga brothers alone and in return he'd deal with the people they wanted to dispose of. Little does Lucifer know that lucifer isn't even his real name as well as that he isn't even a vampire he's just a werewolf with 3 times the strength and speed of a regular werewolf and vampire combined. Also the fact that Ester made him capable of healing like a vampire.Ester called him the original guardian of the original vampires. His real name is Nathaniel C. Abelsin
