A story of a childhood friendship that evolves into a relationship of needs. The main character, Allison Howe, befriends a young Josh Ramsay and makes a promise to him that she will always try to keep. He pushes the boundaries of their friendship and her promise as he slips deeper and deeper into the dark world of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Unwilling to break her word, Allison is always there for Josh, no matter what. Their childhood friendship changes with through the years and turns into a relationship that Allison does not want. Or does she? What will happen? You will have to read to find out.

Allison Hood was Sarah Ramsay's pen pal. So when she has the oppurtunity to visit Sarah for the year, she jumps the chance. Once in Vancouver, she meets Josh. Sarah's brother who's that trouble maker that Alli's parents would disapprove of- troublesome, irresponsible and a muscician.

Valentina Patel has always wanted what was best for her son, JJ. After terrible, yet amazing, experiences in Vancouver, BC, she is ready to move back from Calgary, Alberta. Desperate to put everything behind her. As her and JJ drive down the highway, she tells the story about how she met JJ's father, the famous Josh Ramsay, ten years ago. When she comes back to Vancouver, hoping all of her demons have disappeared, she is revisited by two demons. Matt Webb and the father of her child, Josh Ramsay. Even after nine years, Josh is still attracted to his old high school girlfriend. But he doesn't see that she's changed. Completely. Valentina doesn't understand why he still loves her and wants none of his affection or physical contact. But no matter what she says, Josh keeps giving her the same repsonse: "I am still painting flowers for you." In translation: "No matter what you do, no matter what you say, no matter what you throw at me, I will still be here for you and JJ. I'll still love you. I will paint every flower on the Earth to prove that to you."
