Nearly every poem here comes from the heart and means something to me...

This sonnet started out as verse in my college roommate’s senior yearbook as we both looked forward to our future lives outside the protection of our college. Over the years it evolved and last year I took the poem and made it into this sonnet, “Heaven’s Sill”. Revised: 10-23-13.

Flocks of robins have been heading south for weeks. I am concerned for the stragglers that seem to stay behind until winter digs in its claws.

When the owl and the elephant go to the animal fair, their greediness is their downfall.

This is my my first attempt at lyrics so I am interested in your thoughts. This song lyrics came to me in a vivid dream and I woke and wrote it down. It is about my first lover and she comes back to me, in my dreams, to sing this song to me.
