Modern AU Merlin Merlin lives in a small city with his mother Hunith. But after a family friend offers Merlin a scholarship at the school he works at as a teacher Merlins life changes completely. Soon he faces not only friendship but love as well. Although he can not completely shake his past off of him. Especially not when he has scars to remind him.

In an AU LGBTQ+ accepting Camelot, anybody can love anybody. King Arthur throws a Ball to try and find a romantic companion among his kingdom to make his Queen or King Consort. His manservant Merlin is overrun with chores, but finds a way to attend, though he's too embarrassed to go as himself. In disguise he sets a fire in Arthur's heart, who must discover the identity of the mysterious masked man. (I do not own the characters or the photo used for the cover)

Tutti almeno una volta nella vita hanno sentito nominare Merlin e Arthur, il servo ed il suo re, legati indissolubilmente dal destino. Ma cosa accadde dopo la battaglia di Camlan, nessuno può dirlo con certezza. Narra la leggenda che quando il re morì, Merlin impazzì e perse il controllo della sua stessa magia, causando una serie di fenomeni catastrofici che si fermò solo quando il suo mentore, Gaius, lo trovò in mezzo alla foresta sfinito e senza più una goccia di magia nelle vene. Da questo punto, ci sono tre rami di pensiero: il primo sostiene che Merlin abbia aspettato per anni il ritorno di re Arthur finché, ormai vecchio e pazzo, fu tramutato in acqua per diventare parte di quel lago che custodiva il corpo del suo re, per rinascere solo quando anche il suo re sarebbe tornato; il secondo sostiene che il mago sia diventato immortale e che ancora oggi sia in giro per il mondo alla ricerca di Arthur; il terzo sostiene invece che a causa del forte trauma subìto alla morte del suo re, abbia perso ogni ricordo della sua vita a Camelot e della sua stessa magia.
