Derrick, a 18 year old senior in high school finishes school and makes his way home. On his way home, he spots a garage sale on a nearby driveway and having nothing else to do, he decides to take a quick look as you never know what you might find at a garage sale. After looking through all the old toys and many other items, an old and very creepy doll immediately caught his eyes. Thinking of his sister, he buys the doll and puts it in his bag, then continues to walk home, hoping his sister will enjoy the doll as a gift. After all, it's just a doll... Right?

Once, the entire world was joined together, prospering as large civilizations, creating ancient monuments and writing history together. But, all that is gone, forever... It is a new world now... Scattered, and damaged with no sunlight that gave the entire world life, and lit up the dark places in the far reaches of the earth... Now, the sun never comes up, it's night every hour of the day, we're forever in the dark. Lightning strikes in the sky in sync with loud, shattering thunder. The only light in the pitch black sky is the moon, not the moon we once knew... This new born moon is blood red, the favorite color of the evil, bloodthirsty creatures that follow the way of the dark, and seek to kill those who still have remnants of hope and happiness in their hearts, and still believe the world will become balanced again, that the sun will return and re-ignite the fires that once warmed the hearts of pure people and kept the darkness away, and that the light will rid this once perfect world of darkness and evil forever. But all that is about to change...

The Real World has become monotonous. Everyday it's the same thing, work, eat and sleep. New adventures and fantasy has become a thing of the past. The imaginations of the people have dulled and main streamed. Starlight International had a vision of revitalizing the fantasy of the entire planet and threw all their resources in creating the most diverse game ever to hit the markets. 10 Years after their announcement to challenge and change the gaming industry, Starlight International rolled out Divine World Online, a virtual reality game which changed the face of not only the game market, but also every other departments of the world. Boasting a full mind saturation system the game enables the player to truly experience the game as if he/she was present inside a new world. In just a few weeks the number of active players reached the 8 digit number. In a few months it became an absolute necessity to play the game. Due to the time difference in game of 4 days to 1 day in the real world, schools now held classes in game for longer hours using private servers; Armies, Navies and Air Forces have requested private customized servers where they can practice combat tactics in different environments, Companies now had meetings and practice trading techniques in game and testing of new methods to be used in the real world has become a trend. 1 Year after the game’s release, everyone was and is playing the game now. Everyone, but a small orphaned boy of 16 who is busy lifting boxes for a convenience store in order to get some money to buy food and survive the harsh realities of the world around him.
