Beneath the smugness of his expression, there was a soft warmth spreading like wildfire. He smelled faintly of something sweet. Dulce. I averted my eyes. My face burned and I prayed that it didn't show. The what ifs that plagued my mind earlier came back at full force. Do I really like him? Does any of this really make sense? Falling for the same person who tried to kill me forever ago? Falling for some guy as crazy as him? "Nope."
