Twins Adam and Gretchen are left orphaned after their house is set aflame, and are taken in by an orphanage. With Gretchen's intense curiosity and Adam's devotion to his sister, their relationship in later years takes a turn, becoming controlling and manipulative, forcing Adam to choose between his morals, and his love for the only family he has.
