Hosting a party while your parents are gone is one thing. Pretending you hosted one is another. When Mark Parr decides to take the heat for a party thrown by a major crush of his, he doesn't know how bad things could get. Soon after lying to Marissa's city-councilman dad about hosting the party, Mark's troubles snowball. He is bullied, he fails a test for the first time ever, and he is kicked off the wrestling team. He feels like a victim of circumstance. But Mark doesn't realize there was a real victim of the party. Mark is horrified to learn that the party he pretended to host had serious consequences for another girl he likes, an exchange student from Venezuela. And his best friend Geoff is the suspect.
