Dark things are appearing from the shores on the night of a blood moon. Things that creep up from the bowls of the sea and snatch people back into its depths. People are beginning to disappear. Thinking fast, Makarov splits the guild into groups of two and sends Evergreen and Elfman Strauss to the far western end of The Dark Sea. Elfman for his advance knowledge in monsters, and Evergreen for her knowledge in ancient runes and history, acquired by traveling with Freed. However, what happens when the pair are isolated in the coldest reach of The Dark Sea? Sinister things happen in sinister places, and everything in the town may not be as it seems. This journey tests the bond of friendship between this unlikely pair, and tests the unnameable bond that has been growing since their partnership on Tenroujima. Bonds are flexible but are easily broken too, and will Evergreen say something that shatters their bonds for good? And one of them may not survive this journey...
