It's been thousands of years since the dragons have all gone. When a young boy by the name of Jonathan Haddock opens the Book of Dragons that has been passed down for centuries he learns that the dragons were once real and they're coming back. When he discovers the reincarnation of Toothless will he tell his friends and help them understand what happened so long ago????

Hiccup is struggling to take his father's place as chief of Berk. The village is weak and vurnerable. This means that it can be easily fortified by some unwanted and almost forgotten foes. When Alvin captures Hiccup and tells him to make him a flying suit, Hiccup refuses. But how long can he stay defient in the harsh conditions that Al in forces him through. They are tests of strength and will. He has to depend on himself for strength that his people will rescue him.

Hiccup and Co. decide to celebrate over him becoming Chief of Berk and what other way to celebrate your last days of freedom than a sleepover party with your friends. WARNING!!! WARNING!!! WARNING!!! It's been a month since Dragons and Vikings were brought together, now the only thing left to do is train them. Its close to winter in Berk, putting everyone on edge for food. Hiccup, the chiefs son, also the one that brought dragons and Vikings together isn't worried about the snow at all. He's usually the one to take advantage of the snowy weather, going dragon sledding with Astrid and the gang. But when Hiccup, mysteriously falls ill with an unknown sickness, Stoik's worries for his survival in the cold grow. In hopes to cure his only son Stoik sets out to sea to find the right medicine leaving Hiccup in the constant care of Gobber and Astrid. When tragic strikes, and Hiccup is now left on his own, his chances of surviving become small.

What happens when Astrid and Hiccups love life escalates? When intruders invade Berk? When arguments occur? Will Hiccup and Astrid make it through this, what will happen to Berk, and will changes break the gang up or pull them closer together? Author's Note: The first few chapter focus mainly on some Hicstrid fluff and it takes place after the events in How To Train Your Dragon 2. I wrote this story before Race to Edge came out so nothing from that is in here. Astrid's name means Divine Beauty in Old Norse, divine meaning godly (hint the title name). I will try to update as quick as possible you'll just have to bare with me. Also i do not own How to Train Your Dragon or anything related (characters, themes, ect.). Astrid and Hiccup are both detectives. They solve cases and bring justice to ones who need it. Hiccup has had a crush on Astrid since he started his career. Astrid on the other hand just sees him as another screw up waiting to happen. Astrid is the type of girl to solve cases on her own. That is, till now. Hiccup gets paired up with Astrid and gets a chance to show her his skills. On the first case they have together, they almost lose their killer. But then, Hiccup comes up with a plan to get their killer. Astrid thinks it's a good plan, but also a stupid one. This was the type of plan that could get you killed within an instant. This is Hiccup's chance to prove his bravery to the rest of the squad, and to his crush. The question is: Will it work or fail? Will this help catch their killer?
