Fullmetal Alchemist: Kowareta Ai is a Fullmetal Alchemist (Roy/Riza) FanFic written as a present for me by a good friend of mine. In a small mining town known as Hakken, a state of emergency has been declared, as worker after worker has been lost to the very mines that sustain the town. Fuhrer Roy Mustang and his loyal subordinate, General Riza Hawkeye, have gone to investigate, enlisting the help of State Alchemist Laura Kosen (also known as the Sun Alchemist). When they arrive, they are greeted by an alchemist named Kara, who is recognized as the head of mining operations after the disappearance of her father, and who Laura identifies as her older sister, despite Kara's adamance that she and Laura are not related. The four enter the mines to pinpoint the cause of the disappearances, but all is not what it seems underneath Hakken, leading to a horrific accident. This story is not only the story of two broken sisters, trying to discover what in existence connects them, it is also the story of a painfully beautiful romance, so complete it needs only dreams to exist.
