Alex Gaskarths life is boring and repetitive until one night he comes across a young man walking into the forest alone and distraught. Jack Barakat was abused as a child and believes hes worthless. Hes going to end it all but he gets stopped by a handsome stranger. What will happen when this chance event leads to them living together and developing unexpected feelings.

Jack Barakat has had enough of being upset with his life and is taking charge of his own happiness. He pledges to never revert back to his old self, and be who he truly is. Even if who he truly is attracts Alex Gaskarth, the asshole.

Alex Gaskarth finds himself feeling depressed after a close family member has died. He feels as if he is falling and that no one is there to catch him but that changes when he meets someone who changes his whole life, Jack Barakat. Alex finds himself in a tough situation when feelings he has never felt towards a guy before start to form but does Jack feel the same?

"So you lied to me." Alex stated angrily, hurt flashing in his eyes. I shook my head, I could feel the hot years welling in my eyes. "No...It-It wasn't supposed to be like this." I told him quietly. "Then how was it supposed to be?" He asked me. I cowered a little at the volume of his voice. "Unbelievable." "You hate me now, don't you?" My voice broke on the words. He didn't answer me. Alex Gaskarth is a nobody. He's just one small speck that walks the world alone and barely makes it by. He's lived off of his parents ever since he graduated, but now that they've moved back to England and left him in Baltimore, he's barely able to pay to put food on the table. He doesn't have a job (and doesn't care to get one) so the only way that he's able to make money is playing guitar in the local park, but what happens one day when he's approached by a stranger who just so happens to also be a part of the richest family in Baltimore? Jack Barakat is a somebody. Being one of the four children of a wealthy industry owner, he pretty much has enough money to buy whatever he wants and more. He enjoys having money, but there's one problem... Eventually the money runs out and the fact that his father has an obsession with alcohol and his mother is addicted to cocaine isn't helping any. He thought he could have all the fun being rich, but he's at the point where he realizes that the money will eventually get to your head and he wants out of that life. On the first day of 8th grade Jack Barakat notices the new kid, soon to be known as no other than Alex Gaskarth. By just one glance at him from the crowded school hallway, Jack has come to the conclusion that he hates him already. Alex just moved to Baltimore and he already has all the popular kids wrapped around his little finger. How he managed to climb to the top of the popularity list is beyond Jack's knowing. All Jack know's is that he can't wait to be far away from the school, from the popular kids, and farther away from Alex as possible. But what happens when a thought gets planted in Jack's lonely mind? When Jack starts to question things, question himself even, things take an unexpected turn. Did he really want to be far away from Alex? His mind said yes, but his heart says other wise. Everyone always tells you to listen to your heart, but people who are wiser than him-insert sarcastic laugh here- like his mother, his teachers, ect. yells at him, "Use your goddamn brain Jack!" So now the skunk color haired boy has to make a decision. Should he take a chance with his thoughts, or should he just forget them and be left to wonder the ultimate question. "What could have been?" An alternate universe Jalex based in high school where i attempt to make the story line original and cute, but it's all a matter of opinion really, i can't brainwash you into gushing over cuddles. No Jock vs Nerd cliches here, just two neighbors who eventually fall in love. Sound's pretty straight forward, right? But do you dare to believe me, or is there more than what meets the eye? (The actual Jalex begins at about 7, the chapters are kind of short and it's always hinted before then but if you're not that patient then i thought you might want to know ^__^) (Written in the constant P.O.V of Alex, but Jack is mentioned in basically every chapter so you won't have to keep up with the constant switch)
