On New Year's Eve, 2002, a newly regenerated Doctor unexpectedly runs into Athena Tyler- a seemingly ordinary human girl. However, when he runs into her again ten years later, he begins to wonder: Who exactly is this girl? Could Athena really be a human, or is she something more?

Aspen never felt anything but normal. The only thing she was willing to admit was abnormal was her eyes. They seemed to change color depending on her mood but without that, they were a magenta color. Other than that, she was a normal girl, at least that’s what she tricked herself to believe. In reality, Aspen is far from the average girl. She comes from a line of very powerful aliens who have been around before the beginning of time. On the night of her band’s first serious gig, Aspen notices a boy around her age standing in the crowd watching her that she thinks she knows. Knowing she’s never met anyone with his appearance she dismisses it. Soon she will learn who she really is and that she is the only being who can reach the edge.
