The story is told from the point of view of the two main characters: Reid and Spencer. Reid is more shy and reserved and has a lot of emotional baggage. Spencer is kinda the opposite. They are seniors in high school, who one day get assigned partners on a project. Reid is the new kid. He moved there a month ago and they don't really know each other. Because Reid has issues with getting close to people and has trust issues, he tries everything he can to make it so they don't have to work together, but Spencer refuses. They eventually become good friends... And eventually lovers. They end up having to hide their relationship, because Spencer is already getting bullied for other reasons. But what happens when Reid doesn't want to be a secret anymore?
