*Previously Featured, reached #3* Inspired by her father, 16-year-old Ruby never misses an opportunity to challenge her village's ridiculous rules. Her friends and brothers try to dissuade her hot-headed methods, but Ruby can't help it. She doesn't believe Seers should determine the fate of individuals before a crime is committed, and she doesn't back down, not even when the Seers banish her father into the deadly forest. When Ruby spots survivors beyond the gates, she breaks every rule to save them. She lands the same fate as her father, only to be saved by a psychic instead of banished. But why would a Seer protect a troublesome girl? With the village out to get her, Ruby pulls one last stunt that destroys the lives of everyone she has ever known, and to her horror, Ruby learns the dark and twisted truth behind why the psychic saved her.

Summertime in Chesterfield means two very different things for teenagers Tess Copeland and Maddie Lambert. For Tess, spending time with family and anticipating the annual Crush Festival goes hand-in-hand with the country air and the sweet smell of a cane fire. For Maddie, Chesterfield offers an escape from the demands of a reality that she's just unable to run from. This summer, however, there is one lit fire that's even harder to contain than the massive bonfires that characterise the town's summer spectacle, as young love and awakened passions smoulder in the shadows. Amidst the turmoil of growing up and the pressures of youth and fame, can these two young women navigate the precipices of adulthood unscathed? Will Maddie and Tess be able to overcome the secrets of a small town and save the beloved festival before it's too late?

Suddenly Anna falls and the speaker breaks. Amanda and Paul broke the mike stand and started yelling "this is Harry Potter's broom stick". And Stefan was standing on top of the sofa rolling with the curtains. "WHAT THE HELL GUYS"I yelled very loudly. A man enters the room. And believe me his expressions was epic. We were totally screwed.

During the first 30 years of my journalistic career in the second half of the 20th century, good jobs of all kinds were available all over Canada. Those of us born in the 1930s and early '40s were in great demand because our generation was very small when the post-World War II boom began. I earned generous fees working mainly freelance at home or in the offices of clients. "GLIMPSES..." is the story of all the stories my work involved: the who, what, when, where, why, and how of people I met, our society's attitudes, my networks, lessons learned, mistakes made, many good times and some very bad ones. I hope to reveal how it felt to be a Canadian worker from the 1950s until about 2000, to provide perspective on why those years were the way they were, and perhaps offer clues as to how they led us to Now. (Note that chapters become shorter as the tale grows longer.)

It was Rory’s Grandma that made the two predictions; the day of her own death, and the day Rory would die. Nobody really takes Grandma seriously – that is, until she suddenly passes away on the exact date she’s predicted. In a fit of panic, Rory decides to embark on a bizarre, crazed mission to live life to the full. Together with her friends, she throws the rulebook out of the window and tastes what the world has to offer; excessively wild nights, malicious revenge plans, and arrogant, beautiful boys. Rory thinks she has nothing to lose. But her family is slowly starting to crumble, and her friends are getting sick of her reckless attitude. There’s only so long she can party before the terror of her deathday rolls around. Rory has to choose between bowing out disgracefully, with her name seared into the town’s memory – or fighting the out-of-control girl she’s become before it’s too late.
