He said, "if you wish for it, you may have it."
But Kit could only listen to his words, not sure if he could do it, but to just listen, was enough.
Kit Shaw wakes up one morning, standing before the wooden gates that lead out to the Bare Forest. He does not know how he got there, he does not know why he is there. All he knows is what he sees; and what he sees, is a plump cat on the other side of the gates, beckoning him over with a playful little grin.
So he follows mindlessly into the forest his mother told him to stay away from. He does not exactly what to expect when he enters. A field of tall sunflowers was the least of his expectations. The boy that calls him out is a pleasant surprise too.
Away from his mundane and monotonous life, Kit explores a world so unlike his. A boy with foreign features and a cat named Sunny. How different could this place be? He thinks it can't be all magic, but sometimes, he isn't always right.
