(Book 2) Community connotes safety, togetherness. But does it? When Bailey and Chloe head back on the road, they come across strange markings belonging to a group intent on bloodshed and abduction. With a heinous enemy lurking in the shadows, they find help in new and old friends along the way. Together when they finally find Hargrove, all isn't what it seems with the make-shift, post-apocalyptic community. People are turning up dead and for once, zombies aren't the only ones to blame. Fingers are pointed, everyone becomes a suspect and no one is safe outside or inside these walls. Copyright © 2015 by N_D_Iverson All Rights Reserved. I watch the infected tear apart the peice of meat, grabbing it with their dead hands, fighting with each other over it, driven purely by hunger. I watch them bite into the hunk of beef and chew madly. It felt so weird not to be running from them. Then they stop mid-chew, and their faces begin to contort and twist, their mouths uttering horrible screams of pain like they were burning from the inside. They begin to fall down, one by one, clawing at their necks and screaming, with a thick flow of white foam pouring from their mouths. Eventually, their screams quiet to low groans, their clawing becomes feeble scratches at their necks, until all is quiet, and they lay like still and rotting corpses. I couldnt believe it. My blood was the key to bringing human kind back from extinction. Me.
