Jihyo seorang Puteri yang hilang akibat dihanyutkan oleh seorang dayang atas suruhan Permaisuri ataupun ibunya kerana di negara mereka sedang berlaku satu peperangan yang sangat dasyat. Jihyo terdampar di tepi sebatang sungai dan sepasang suami isteri mengambilnya lalu menjadikan dia sebagai anak angkat dia tetap dinamakan Song Jihyo kerana terdapat sepucuk surat didalam bakul yang menempatkannya dan juga terdapat sebuah loket yang menunjukkan gambar Raja dan Permaisuri serta gambarnya. Selepas 20 tahun,akhirnya Permaisuri sudah menemukan Jihyo tetapi Raja masih tidak mahu membawa Jihyo pulang ke kerajaan kerana kerajaan bekum aman jadi dia menghantar 12 orang kepercayaannya untuk menjada Jihyo.
