In Westbridge County, there's some special people lurking within the shadows. "They're a mutation, an experiment gone wrong. They're a disease and we need to rid them from our society." The Specials were only a science experiment in the 1800's. They were the answer to a blood disease closely related to leukemia. They were X-P 12-7. Now this Experimental Project in modern day plans to tear apart human kind and they do is as simply as they can - through seduction, heart breaking and murders. Only that's just the beginning; it's the icing on the cake. Only pure apocalypse can feed The Special's revenge. ~*~ Forever young and beautiful, eighteen year old Scarlett Evans is a Special. She thrives on her murders and yearns only for more. It's until she learns that re-populating isn't all that her family wants. Her younger brother, Kendall opens her eyes and her last kills is only more realization. Scarlett wants peace but it's hard to know what peace truly means when she's been brought up on: death, re-population and lies. When she finds love, friendship and a new profound life, karma slaps reality into her face as she breaks the Special's main rule: keep from being exposed; revealed. "It was only a matter of time," Will she ever find her peace?
