Clara’s summer plans of getting her driver’s license and lounging by the pool are instantly shattered when her mother and father are offered the opportunity to study a rare butterfly in the Amazon Rainforest. When Clara and her younger brother Liam are unceremoniously dropped off at their grandparent’s technology-free farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, things quickly go from bad to worse. In addition to coming down with a terrible case of the flu, Clara begins to hear strange unexplained sounds at night, she is locked into her bedroom every night, and her brother is given strict rules about where he can explore on his grandparent’s expansive property. Clara’s concern turns to pure terror when she and Liam find their grandfather reading the morning paper at the dining room table, covered in blood with a long kitchen knife in one hand. Petrified, Clara and Liam burst past their grandfather and race into the forbidden woods surrounding the farmhouse. Are things as they appear? Is their grandfather a murderer? It's the year 2314 and a new government has taken power, in order to control the outbreak of the supernatural species across the world. In the early 2000 a war between the supernatural and humans broke out. During this war almost the whole human race was killed. The government must find a way to repopulate the human species or risk extinction of both the humans and the supernatural. To prevent this extinction the new government have housed and kept safe the remaining survivors of all species. 'The War' shattered all governments, nations, and religions leaving the world to dissolve into anarchy before the The Elders of Lumina Achfien a board in which there is one represented from each species that control this new world. However not everyone both humans and supernatural agree with this new government. Some have escaped from it and some have managed never to get drawn into it however they fight a shadow war with The Elders eluding capture, and planning a way to take down The Edlers. Theses rebels are called închis seraph or 'the enemy'. Xenia a human under the control of The Elders is and is to marry the prince who is next in line to become an Elder. However as she learns more about the prince and the elders she doubts who to trust. Memories of her life before 'The Elders' and 'The War' start to resurface. The more she remembers the closer danger approaches from The Elders and maybe even the prince. She races to find out the truth about the Elders and her past while fighting her growing attraction to the prince before time runs out.
